About Purple Aiders

There are an estimated 50 million people worldwide with epilepsy, 50% of which are children! In China alone, there is an estimated 400,000 new cases every year (which is almost one new case discovered every single minute!) Most people with epilepsy experience bullying, teasing, discrimination and some children can't even attend school!!

We are a CLUB OF KIDS that want to help spread awareness, support kids with epilepsy, and bring first aid knowledge for dealing with seizures to as many schools, classrooms, and activity centers as possible!

We give presentations at schools that demystify epilepsy and seizures, give simple first aid tips for seizures, and remind kids that teasing is not OK! Most importantly, we want to encourage kids with epilepsy to feel proud of themselves!

The Founder of Purple Aiders is Tea (say "Tay-ya"), who was diagnosed with reflex epilepsy when she was 10 years old. With the support of her BFF and co-Founder of Purple Aiders, Ashley, and other great friends, Tea is able to feel safer in school and wherever they go, and she and her friends stop others from teasing about seizures. Her friends help her and protect her when she has seizures, and her teachers also know exactly what to do.

There are SO MANY kids with epilepsy in this world, who should have as normal lives as possible. We think it is important that others know the TRUTH about epilepsy and how to protect and support kids that have seizures.

If you'd like to do a presentation in your school, just contact us and we'll help you get your own Purple Aiders Club started! See our BE A PURPLE AIDER section for examples of powerpoints and other things you can use.
